The
door that
performers and
crew use in a
theater. Usually located at the back or the side of the
building. Part of the theatre tradition is that to see the actors or
technicians in the
lobby (if they entered or exited through the front door) "breaks the spell" of the show and ruins the
illusion.
In
tv shows and
movies, you see
autograph hounds or
gangsters waiting for the
star to
exit the theatre after a show.
