/me concurs with Cid.
I didn't start running
Linux until around seven months ago, and I knew
next to nothing. It was that lack of
knowledge that made me
choose Slack. I think there's a fundamental difference between people who want to
run Linux and people who want to
learn Linux. I wanted to learn. Slack is a great
distro for people who want to jump in, get their hands
dirty, and not have some GUI
configurator do it for them. It ensures that you really
know your shit, because you need to if you're going to do anything at all
productive.
So, if you know what you're doing, you've paid your dues, and you're not looking for a challenge, sure, go with
RedHat, or
Debian, or whatever. You've earned it. Otherwise, I'd go Slack.
