Do you need these?

 You ask

Pointing at my reading glasses,
Left unattended on a bedside table
In the hours since I had last used them

I do not need their assistance
To discern intentions
As you stretch your legs out long and straight
Slow feline relaxation

True, I might miss some small detail,
Overlooked fine print
Any cursive you write on my arm will be illegible to me
But I will grasp the meaning

Just as your fingers grasp mine
White knuckle tight
A connection visceral, not visible
