Fingon was the son of Fingolfin, and High King of the Noldor after the death of his father. When Maedhros was captured by Morgoth, it was Fingon who journeyed alone to rescue him, Healing the rift between those of Feanor's camp and those of Fingolfin's. Fingon was killed by Balrogs in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad during the 22nd year of his reign. He was succeeded by his brother, Turgon.
