According to Union Rubber, Inc., this is the only "real adhesive." Made from a
heptane base, this highly viscous glue is extremely flammable, and its vapors may cause flash fire.
Although marketed as a clear paper fastener, rubber cement, like its other glue siblings, evaporates slowly in air and produces potent fumes. These fumes, if properly concentrated (perhaps with a
Ziplock bag, or by fitting one's nose directly into the jar opening), can be inhaled to induce an entirely unpleasant headache. If this sort of thing is your
bag, allow me to suggest purchasing the 16 fl. oz. container--its form is flasklike, and is perfect for discrete carrying on your person.
