Devilishly handsome, Vincent Perez was born on June 10, 1962 in Lausanne, Switzerland to a spanish father and german mother. Though his father wanted him to study business, Vincent had other dreams, and with the encouragement of his mother, he left Switzerland and moved to France when he was 18. Perez considered becoming a sculptor, painter or photographer but ended up attending drama school in Geneva and at the Paris Conservatory. He was shy and he thought that this would be the best method to get over his weakness. Vincent Perez can speak french, spanish and english fluently that I know of. He is also a master at doing accents, considering he can speak those above languages without any accent affecting them, he has also done a Russian accent in Swept from the Sea opposite Rachel Weicz.
He gained a worldwide recognition when he co-starred with Gerard Depardieu in the phenomenally successful Cyrano De Bergerac in 1990. Vincent Perez went on to starring roles in the 1993 Oscar winner Indochine co-starring Catherine Deneuve, a brilliant film spanning a few years during the French ruling of Vietnam, Alexandre Jardin's Fanfan and Patrice Chereau's 1994 Cannes prize-winning La Reine Margot, co-starring Isabelle Adjani. Vincent Perez married Karine Silla on December 18, 1998 who already had daughter Roxanne, by actor Gerard Depardieu. They are still married and on May 2, 1999 Karine gave birth to Vincent's first child, a daughter named Iman. In his bachelor days he had been known to have dated Jacqueline Bisset, and model Carla Bruni.
