| /dev/joe is the concept of using the computer as the extension of one's own mind, by programming it to perform tasks which one knows how to do, but which are too tedious, error-prone, or otherwise difficult to do without the computer.
The name /dev/joe is a pun on the Unix operating system's "device" files, which are all stored in the /dev directory (see /dev/null, ls -lR /).
The second meaning is that Joe is my name and "dev" is the first three letters of my last name...
I am no relation to the fled noder who called him/her/itself /dev/null. (Nor to dev/eth0, who seems to be missing a slash.)
