Series of 7"
vinyl compilations released by
Minneapolis-based
noise rock label
Amphetamine Reptile. Volumes 2 and 9 were 2x7" format. The compilations were long-running and quite diverse: although a number of bands stuck to AmRep's characteristic sludy and abrasive formula, there was also garage rock (
Mudhoney,
Thee Mighty Caesars), indie (
Superchunk,
Jawbox), and more experimental sounds (
Boredoms,
Brainiac). The title is derived from the
White Panther Manifesto by
John Sinclair (1968), which presented a ten-point platform including: "Total assault on the culture by any means necessary, including rock n' roll, dope and fucking in the streets."
