(KUROKI TSUKI) The words used by
SEELE to describe the
egg of
Lilith, the
source of life. In episode 26', the start of the
Instrumentality Project reveals that the
underground cavity beneath
Tokyo-3 which became the
Geofront is in fact the
"Black Moon".

There is some
real world truth to the relation of
Lilith to a
dark moon. The Dark Moon refers to a
hypothetical satellite of the
Earth. It would be a very small physical body (about 3 meters across) and have a great
velocity (3 hours and 20 minutes for a complete orbit around the Earth). It would also be in
eclipse, thus be
invisible. In 1918, the astrologer
Walter Gounold named this Dark Moon, or Black Moon,
Lilith.
