Some years ago (waaaay back in
2006), plans were in the works for
Lindsay Lohan and
Keira Knightley to co-star as ladies who end up having a
lesbian dalliance in the
big screen adaptation of
The Best Times of Our Lives, a
biopic on
Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. As in
Do not go gentle into that good night, Rage, rage against the dying of the light (rendered by
Rodney Dangerfield in this classic clip).
Here is a morally questionable website with a story on it, pre-filming. Very pre-filming, since obviously the pic was never made. Oh, the crushing of
testosterone-fired hopes over this cancellation!! But, sadly,
fate made it not so. Lohan pulled out- no, wait, that sounds dirty, and anatomically implausible. Lohan backed out. Hmmmm, still potentially vulgar, if done just right.
Well what really happened is that there never was going to be any
lesbianism in the picture in the first place. Lohan was just
talking out of ass. There, now
that sounds positively filthy. Lohan went to
rehab and
Sienna Miller joined up in her place, and the film actually came out in mid-2008, under the name,
The Edge of Love. If you've never heard of it, that's because there was no lesbian sex in it whatsoever.
It also seems highly unlikely now that LiLo will ever share any screentime with Ms. Knightley, who was
reported by unreliable sources to have been heard cursing Lohan out on her cellphone in public.
