Exams over. More time on my hands. I'll node more soon. Anyway, if anyone wants to discuss economics msg me. Especially if anyone knows a lot about the efficient markets theory or market operation.

Scroll down you idiot, there's more.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Should I study

English Literature

or

Economics

at university? I have only weeks to decide. Send all votes and suggestions this way by messaging me...

OK, votes counted. English won. Sadly I picked Economics. Long story. Anyway, I'm thinking of applying to: Cambridge, UCL, LSE, Warwick, Nottingham, Durham, Bristol, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Chicago, Brown and others. Although I can only pick 6 British ones (for UCAS reasons).

Heard in the catbox after I made a comment on Iraq:

$ haze: one belligerant violation of the principles of world peace and freedom deserves another!

I'm soon going to start reading Ulysses by James Joyce (Ok so I could insert a stream of consciousness joke here by typing 'yes' several times but it would be extremely tiresome). It's not the easiest book in the world to read, obviously, so if anyone has advice, help or suggestions on reading it then please tell me :) I would love any reccomendations for guidebooks and 'translations' as well, since it doesn't look like I'm going to get through even the first page without one. Thank you as usual...

This is sjoshi64 (I used to have my name here, but it seemed a bit I-am-so-1337-h4x0r-ish-and-go-email-me-at-my-hotmail-account), and I live in North London and go to Highgate School; What, you want more? Well my political leanings are below, if anyone cares.

  • Authoritarian/Libertarian: -4.46

Oh, and Two Gallants and Eveline should not be my least voted on writeups! I spent the longest on them.

First things first: I would like to thank some people for helping me on E2, especially since I have just started out and because I tend to ask really stupid questions.

  • wrinkly, for answering all my questions nicely. He has been a great help to me, and I really appreciate it. To anyone starting out (like me) I suggest reading his writeup under the node E2 is unfriendly to new noders. Also read his node level 1 which has some pointers, all of which I ignored when I first joined E2.
  • nine9 for agreeing to be my mentor and managing to read vast quantities of my writeups without passing out. Thank you! He has also given me a ton (update: and I mean a ton!) of C!ngs which are always nice for my ego.
  • drownzsurf for giving me my first C! ever. I'll frame it.
  • kozmund for sending my first msg of praise
  • Finrod for being cool
  • Anyone who has helped me in the past, whether sending me a message or telling me when it is the right time to shut up in the chatterbox, it's all good.

A w/u of mine that was deleted but I quite liked:

Insulting with soft links

The good thing about this node is that no-one can actually add insulting softlinks to insult me! Despite not having been around for a long time, it is clear that many people, when they see a poor node, prefer to soft link to an amusing node(shell usually) rather than downvote, perhaps out of pity. While I think creating nodeshells with witty titles is a bit silly (I have done it myself, though) I think soft link insults are harmless and a wholesome alternative to hitting that downvote button. I am of course aware that soon enough I can expect large quantities of these softlinks attached to my nodes, but I had fun searching for insults.

Any time you need to insult someone come to this page and pick the appropriate insult. The fire away! For your viewing pleasure, the insults are in alphabetical order.

The selection

Please msg me for any additions.

Please do read my scratchpad from time to time and if you think what's on there is at all interesting let me know. Also, I node about what I'm interested in, so if you like one of my nodes and want more information, have suggestions or only want to talk about it I'd be more than happy to do so.
