PICK, a non-
relational multi-user
database management system developed in the 60's by
Richard A. Pick ("Dick Pick"). Originally implemented on
Honeywell and
McDonnell Douglas minicomputers, the relative simplicity and portability of the PICK model has led to ports for a wide range of platforms, and spurred the refinements that led to
Advanced PICK.
Client-server implementations, using
ODBC and/or
OSFI, are available as D
3/
UNIX, D
3/NT (32-bit Windows platforms), and D
3/
ProPlus (
Linux).
