One of the more
useless NetHack tools, one I swear they included just because it seems
logical to do so rather than any real
need for it. The
tin opener, when
wielded, allows you to open
tins in only one turn, as opposed to the usual several.
Sounds alright so far, but here's the problem. You have to wield it in order to use it. For the terminologically impaired, that means you have to put down your sword, staff, bow, or heavy iron ball and grip that tin opener, pointy side out, and get ready to open that tin. I can taste the homemade baluchitherium as I write this. If the tin opener is cursed, you've got big problems -- this is even worse than having a cursed pickaxe (see). In summary, don't risk it. Just use your sword and a little patience.
