Lo-tech is not hi-tech (or high tech if you prefer).
Using a computer to order pizza over the internet is considered hi-tech, but is not as much fun as lo-tech walking.
Lo-tech solutions are often favoured for environmentally friendly reasons, as the infrastructure needed to support a hi-tech society gives rise to pollution, and waste pizza boxes choking rivers.
