A very ancient Roman goddess, who is said to have been the sister of the robber Cacus. She may have betrayed her brother by disclosing to Heracles the secret place where Cacus had hidden the stolen oxen (see CACUS). In return Caca became the object of a cult and a flame was kept perpetually alight in her honour, as one was for the goddess Vesta.
