This is the proper (or, perhaps slang) name for the horn of an anvil (from http://www.ironews.com/).

The bick on an anvil serves as a 'rounding' surface. The face on an anvil is flat, but if a particular piece of metal needs to be curved in some way, the only way to do it is to hammer against a curved surface. A good bick has many possible curvatures, from the slight to the extreme (most bicks are quite pointy at the end).

Some general information on anvils can be found at anvil. Check out blacksmith too for some possible metallic works that would use the bick.
