A beer frame occurs when, among a team or group of bowlers, all but one bowl a strike. The bowler who did not strike must buy beer (or appropriate libations) for all. Some instead bestow the beer frame on "the low scorer in a designated frame (often the 7th frame)." --(MHS bowling dictionary, www.mhsbowling.home.ml.org)
