Slightly insulting term for someone who grew up in what was then West Germany (Westdeutschland in German). Not as insulting as it was 10 years ago, when it implied arrogance and towards Ossis (see also Besserwessi) and lack of understanding of how life in the GDR was like. Nowadays usually used non-seriously.
