A side-scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game that got a lot of ports to various systems, including Gameboy, Amiga and Commodore 64.
The C64 version, by the way, had extremely beautiful graphics and music - and cool sampled start sound by Jeroen Tel:
"Hello, and welcome to Turrican... Be my guest... Another day, another cry... but remember: Shoot or Die! Haahahahahahahahaaaaaa...."
(According to STIL, the fear-inducing voice belongs to Markus Wiederstein who did the Turrican tape mastering.)
