Book by Colombian novelist Gabriel García Márquez. It's about a sailor on a Colombian naval ship who was washed overboard, drifted around for two days, and finally turned up on a beach. It's a true story, cobbled together from articles Marquez wrote in 1955 for the Bogota newspaper El Espectador.

It didn't do much for me. I didn't finish it. The blurbs on the back of my copy (Vintage) seem to be straining real hard to convince the reader that it's not just juvenilia resurrected by a publisher in search of a quick buck from a big name. I'm not convinced.
