| A Japanese video games company primarily known for their arcade work. They developed a little-known shoot-'em-up called Space Invaders that apparently was quite a success. Most of Taito's more recent games (by which I mean ones that use more than two colours) have been 'cutesy' in graphical style. Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, Parasol Stars, New Zealand Story, Puzzle Bobble, Liquid Kids, Chuka Taisen (Cloud Master), and Arkanoid were all their doing. Rather less cute were Rastan, Growl and Insector X. Taito is apparently pronounced "Tie-Cho", but many people simply rhyme it with potatoe.
