Readercon is a science fiction convention held in the Boston area in mid-July each year. As one might guess from its name, the focus of the convention is on written SF. As a result, the convention tends to attract a very high ratio of pro writers and editors (and, as a result, a lot of publishing deals take place here). The James Tiptree Jr. Memorial Award is given out either at Readercon or at Wiscon.
