A message-based, threading microkernel developed at Carnegie Mellon University.
Mach hosts various ``OS emulators'', providing the most basic operating system
functions underneath the emulators. Many Mach variants have been used in such operating systems as NeXTStep, MkLinux, Rhapsody, Hurd, and now MacOS X.
