The XJR is Jaguar's high performance sedan, and the most powerful car in the XJ sedan series.

Current versions of the XJR are powered by a supercharged, intercooled, twin DOHC 32-valve V8 which generates 370 HP at 6150 rpm and has a 9.0:1 compression ratio. This engine allows the 1837kg (4050lb) vehicle to accelerate to 60mph in 5.4 seconds. The performance of the XJR is enhanced by a racing inspired suspension and low-profile 18-inch tires. Slightly older versions of the XJR from the mid 1990s were powered by a supercharged straight 6, which generated 322 HP.

Though a powerful car, the XJR also has the luxury and comfort of a Jaguar. The interior is beautiful and comfortable, and the 14 speaker Harman/Kardon sound system sounds excellent.

The XJR has always been a fairly high tech vehicle, which caused problems with earlier models of the car. The problems have since been worked out.
