A peculiar branch of Heavy Metal usually called Space Rock.
Bio/History
Formed in 1969 in Notting Hill, London. In 1970, the LP "Hawkwind" is released in August on Liberty/UA. For a while the band featured Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, but Lemmy is booted from the band in June 1975 after Canadian customs agents detain him for suspected cocaine posession. In 1978 the group calved into Hawkwind and Hawklords after some kind of squabble involving Dave Brock.
