A
variety of
apple which is "
ugly but sweet," to quote my
plant biotechnology professor. When they were originally marketed in the
United States they were all
green like
Granny Smiths. However, consumption was low, probably because people associated their green color with
sour/
tart apples. Other
cultivars were developed which had more of a
rosy blush and the Fuji grew in
popularity, apparently because people were more able to accept such
sweetness from a redder apple. Characteristically, Fujis are very
crispand
crunchy, extremely sweet and
juicy, and have a green skin that can be mostly dominated by a red blush to a striated combination of red and
pale green.
and sometimes you can find a poop worm elfie named samwise inside.
