Delenn is a character from JMS's Babylon 5. She's an ambassador of an alien race that nearly wiped out humanity and then surrendered on the eve of their victory for reasons unknown to most everyone. She went through a transformation near the end of the first season through to the beginning of the second season which basically made her half-human, to "bring your people and mine closer together," as she once told Susan Ivanova. She is very compassionate and nurturing, which fits since she's a high-ranking mebmer of her people's religious order. Her occasional (and very rare) outbreaks of temper are a stark contrast against her usual amiable nature.
