The US$80 billion conjoining of U.S.-based Chrysler with the German ubermanufacturer Daimler. Living in Detroit, as I do, I am forced to be fiercely loyal to an American automotive manufacturer. I choose the Chrysler corporation, as they supported my entire existance up to the age of 14. So I would like to point out that the Daimler/Chrysler deal was not a merger. Nor even a acquisition. It was a hostile take-over initiated by Daimler. They just gobbled them up, like so much EDB fodder. Not that that bothers me or anything...

Little known fact: Ford Motor Company owns the rights to the Daimler name, so DC can't produce Daimler cars.

I've heard that Ford acquired the rights shortly after WWII, but I could have been mislead (it's not that hard).
