Armored Core is series of
action games developed by
From Software. The gameplay consists of enhancing a
mecha, or "Armored Core", and using it to complete missions. Upon completing a mission, one gains
credits which they can use to buy more and/or better parts. All of the games also include a split-screen
VS. option, in which two players can battle each other in a
one-on-one arena. This series is one of the very few which make use of the
Playstation link cable, enabling two people to fight each other on separate monitors, provided they have two Playstations, a link cable, and two copies of the game.
