An incredibly
fast (especially when using two
disk drives) disk
copying
program for the
Apple ][ series of computers. The program could copy a Apple disk in maybe
forty seconds tops.
Disk Muncher could be seen running many times during every lunch hour in our computer lab. Copy progress was shown by a series of periods [.] running vertically down the screen. In four passes the disk was copied.
Of course, if the program had trouble copying a certain disk, the disk drive would make that horrible physical grunt of pain:
"UNGGH!... UNGGH!..."
Upon hearing these sounds, one would know that the disk needed something
perhaps a bit
stonger like
Copy ][+.
