sued by the American
corporate entity
eToys, alleging trademark infringement. As a result,
NSI shut down the
etoy.com domain
indefinitely. The funny thing is, etoy.com was there before etoys.com! Anyway, thus began the
Toywar, during which thousands of
TOYWAR.soldiers organized to send massive amounts of letters, gather
intelligence, and make cool
music to keep everyone's morale high. Eventually, of course,
etoy won, got the suit dismissed
with prejudice, and got their domain back.
Of course, now etoy is under fire from the makers of LEGO(c) bricks for using images of the LEGO(c) two-way radio and LEGO people. Looks like TOYWAR 2 is about to begin...
