Wendy Mesley is co-host of the CBC show Disclosure, along with Diana Swain. Prior to that Wendy spent six seasons as host of the journalistic TV program UNDERcurrents.

Mesley began her broadcast career in 1976 as a radio reporter in Toronto. She moved to television news in 1979, and CBC News in 1981. Until 1990, Mesley was a parliamentary correspondent. Among the subjects she reported on were Meech Lake and the GST. In 1991, Mesley became a National Affairs correspondent for CBC TV News.

She is the ex-wife of CBC news anchor Peter Mansbridge. She has much better hair.


2020 update: In June 2020, Mesley was disciplined by the CBC when she used the N-word when participating in a call as part of preparations for a program on anti-Black racism. Mesley was suspended from hosting duties on The Weekly. CBC associate produced Imani Walker, who is black, noted that in using full N-word, white journalists:

"... speak with an undeniable amount of privilege & power that Black, Indigenous & POC journalists will never have ... Saying 'n-word' is sufficient — it's a term BIPOC journalists use, no matter the context."
