The "6567/6569 Video Interface Controller" (or VIC-II) is the video processor in the legendary C64 computer.

  • 8 hardware sprites
    A sprite is a 24x21 pixel large, free-movable, overlayed object. Each sprite could be expanded by factor 2 in X or Y direction. Sprites can be either monochrome 24x21 pixel or four-colored in 12x21 pixel
  • a fixed palette of 16 different colors
    The colors were : black, white, red, cyan, pink, green, blue, yellow, orange, brown, light red, dark gray, medium gray, light green, light blue and light gray.
