Tristram is a town in the land of
Khanduras, in the world of
Sanctuary, the setting of
Diablo and
Diablo II. By the time you get there, in Diablo I, most of the inhabitants have moved out (thanks to a
Prime Evil inhabiting their church). Only a few remain (a healer, a witch, a thief, a drunkard, a blacksmith, etc.), and you, consequently, are their
last hope.
All of Diablo I is set in (or under) Tristram, but in Diablo II, you only spend a short time there. Here are a listing of
NPCs/
townsfolk that you will meet:
Tristram is unique in that the inhabitants
never, ever move. Neither does the water, for that matter. It's also rather odd that there's
an entrance into hell behind
Pepin's house.
