In the Mahabharata, a Hindu epic poem, Subhadra was the sister of Krishna Vasudeva and Balarama, and the daughter of King Vasudeva, ruler of the Vrsnis.
With her family's tacit consent, Subhadra eloped with Arjuna, who carried her off in his chariot.
Their son was Abhimanyu, who, when he was only a young boy, fought heroically to his death in the battle of Kurukshetra.
