alcohol made from pure
sugar cane (as opposed to
rum, which is distilled from
molasses), and the national drink of
Brazil, which produces some 1 billion litres
per annum. It is usually serverd
on the rocks or in a
caipirinha, made as followsp:
2 1/2 ounce Cachaca
1 lime, cut into wedges
2 teaspoons sugar
stamp the lime wedges and sugar into the bottom of a chilled highball glass. Add the cachaca and stir. Remove the wedges and add a half wedge for garnish.
