Before I got my 3310 I owned a Nokia 7110, an altogether much more capable phone. However, it was big, and I never was too sure that the flip down keypad cover wouldn't just break off at some point. I wanted a simple phone that I knew would last, and preferably take up less space than the 7110.

I ended up choosing between the Nokia 8210 and the 3310. Although the 8210 weighs next to nothing, it's also too small for me. I find the keypad uncomfortable, and I'd probably lose it. So I decided on the 3310. Yes it's a bit of a toy phone, but look at it this way, you can turn the rumble thingy off, and no one's forcing you to play the games.

The changeable fascias are nothing new, and again, no one's forcing you to buy the canary yellow one. And the screensaver feature? Guess what, yes, you're right .. you can turn that off too.

Although the 3310 lacks a builtin modem for data services, I no longer need one. The data aspect was my main concern with the 3310 but once I admitted to myself that although it would be cool, I no longer actually needed it, the choice was clear.

If you want a simple, well built little phone, and you're not fussed about data services (trust me, you're missing nothing with WAP) - I'd recommend the 3310, it's a great little phone.
