'..are
odd, you know? it's like you're standing on two
plateaus, and there's this
sloping difference between them. you're not
falling all over yourself but you should be. tilted,
downhill, on
level ground, flexing the muscles in your calves, thighs. there you are, a
goddess, elevated. and no matter where or who you are, you are somehow
above. lifted. beautiful,
on a pedestal. heels blown up by a
divine wind. watch, eyes turning to meet the challenge of legs artificially
crippled but iconoclast.
no one gets away from high heels. strange leeches,
sucking you into the magic, misconstrued.
'did i want to be this? can i live up to it?
my role.. can i play it?
here i am. in high heels.'
