The f-bomb is a polite phrase describing someone using the word fuck. All resources I have found agree with my thinking that this phrase either originated or gained popularity from the Jim Rome sports-talk radio show.

F-bomb is used in the following manner.

"... so he came on the radio and dropped the f-bomb."
