The "SCUD" missile was originally built by the Chinese, though, obviously, they didn't call it that. Scud is a nickname among Navy personel for the prostitutes in Taiwan, particularly the older and more toothless ones. It is a great insult to this munition to refer to it by a name used for toothless old whores.
