A type of very high power
microwave oscillator. The details available to me are unfortunately very
sketchy, because it is mostly a
theoretical and/or
classified item. It uses an intense beam of
electrons to bombard a piece of
foil and create a
virtual cathode inside a
vacuum tube. They are
one-shot items and are
destoyed after one
pulse. They are a proposed component of a conventional
EMP bomb.
