A soldier's condition during or after a battle which leaves him disoriented and sometimes in a state of stress that prevents him from further performing his duties. During WWII, British or German soldiers were executed for desertion, cowardice, or insubordination, all of which came under the soldiers cry of being "shell-shocked." Today, this is more commonly known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and is not only viable but treatable.
