power cable

A power cable supplies watts to your equipment. It's usually black, thick and has a plug on each end. Computer power cables tend to have a NEMA 15 120VAC plug on one end and an IEC 320 connector on the other.

Tripping over the power cable is a bad idea; it usually results in darkness, a long fsck, and wasted time. It is also bad to lick the end of a power cable, or plug it into the wrong jack. Power and data ports don't mix.
