A concept in bridge scoring. When a bridge contract is made, a certain number of points corresponding to the trump suit and level of the contract are scored below the line. A partnership needs to accumulate 100 points below the line in order to win a game. Sometimes this happens in a single hand at a sufficiently high level. Hands played (successfully) for lesser contracts result in a part score, or part of the score needed for game, below the line, reducing the amount needed to reach game on the next hand.

When one side reaches game, a new line is drawn, and any part score the other side had is moved above the line (thus ceasing to be a part score).

Also used to describe the smaller contracts which result in part scores if successful.
