A very tiresome form of small talk.

Examples:

"You look so great - it's disgusting."

"You're so thin - I hate you."

"You're just trying to make the rest of us look bad, with that beautiful outfit."

(Et cetera, ad nauseum.)

Alternatively, it can be done the other way:

"I like your hairstyle, it's so ummm.. you know, out there"
"Hey, that dress is kind of cool! I saw a chick wearing one just like it 5 minutes ago!"
"Your nose is funny, the way it moves when you talk"
As you can probably tell, they work best on chicks.
