Chicken parts, such as wings, breasts, and legs, which have been coated in flour and spices and fried in oil.

Reportedly a popular dish in the American South.

Fried Chicken


  • 2 Rnd. Tsp. Salt
  • 2/3 Rnd. Tsp. Pepper
  • 1 Rnd. Tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp. Celery Salt
  • 1 Tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1/8 Tsp. Sage
  • small sprinkle Ground Thyme
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • Oil
  • 3 Pounds Chicken (or strips)
  1. Soak chicken in cold salt water for 20 minutes.
  2. Mix all dry ingredients in a plastic bag.
  3. Put oil in skillet 3/4 tp 1 inch deep.
  4. Heat oil to 375
  5. Coat each piece of Chicken with the flour mixture.
  6. Add chicken to the skillet.
  7. Fry each side 4 minutes. Turn 3 times for strips, 4 times for pieces.
