The skill of asking the right questions. That is, learning to analyse an argument. This consists of teaching logic and rhetoric, so that the student may better detect fallacies.

This is often cited as something that's sorely lacking in the educational system. (Usually by bitter scientists, thinking "if you weren't stupid you'd agree with me".)

I believe that critical thinking education should be paired with education about emotional intelligence. Critical thinking is a big tool and it can be used to solve problems by brute force instead of more subtle and socially constructive means. Just as self-control is taught with karate to prevent bullying, social skills should maybe accompany critical thinking to avoid intellectual bullying.
