Used to describe a situation that is over-exaggerated. That is, something that is relatively minor is thought to be major. Very annoying to those who have not blown the situation out of proportion. To better describe it, an example (however unlikely) would be someone getting bitten by a red ant and believing that bugs plan to take over the world.
