Light sways in a trap of leaves
a stone lantern weighed
upon by years, I hear
the wind's pattern in
the foliage, worn,
in rivulets between
my hair, tightly bound,
my hands, combing the path,
the hint of past shoes
travelling on these steps

A laughing deep in the brush,
a spirit was said to live here
