The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR is the state's only land grant institution. It's also the flagship university in the state. Such notables as President Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham have studied and taught at the university. The university was founded in 1871. It has a cool ARRL-affiliated amateur radio club, whose call sign is W5YM, ex-W5JNI, ex-5YM, ex-9YM. The radio club was first licensed in 1916. The main mail server at the U of A is a Sun Microsystems Enterprise 5000 called comp.uark.edu. This system has existed in one form or another since about 1994.
